Putin believes that only electors may solve the question of his successor on the post of President. "There are a lot of people in Russia, a lot indeed, who could lead the country, and only electors, the citizens of the Russian Federation may give the final answer to this question", said Russian President at the big press-conference. The head of the state told that before elections in Chechnya he had spoken to the Republic representatives about possible candidatures for the head of the region post. "When I talked to Chechen friends, at the stage of provisional discussion of possible candidatures for President`s post, I asked them: "How do you think, who could be the President of Chechen Republic?" And the answer was "Stop anybody in the street, ask this question, and the answer will be almost always the same: "me!" ", said Putin.
