Office of Military Prosecutor of Vladimir garrison instituted criminal proceedings according to article 236 of Russian Criminal Code ("violation of sanitary and epidemiological security rules")by fact of mass meningitis illness among servicemen in Moscow military district. All hospitalized soldiers served in Kovrov town of Vladimir oblast. 29 servicemen were diagnosed meningococcal bacillus and were hospitalized to the infectious department of Podolsk hospital on suspicion of meningitis. "The presence of this bacillus in organism is not the evidence of the illness", - emphasized representatives of Ministry of Defence.
