Maintenance of strong Europe, close and trusting relationships with USA and strategic partnership with Russia are main pillars of German foreign politics. This was announced by Chancellor of FRG Angela Merkel during traditional New Year diplomatic reception in Berlin this Wednesday. Merkel also appealed to world community to mutual struggle with challenges of 21-st century under the aegis of UNO. The head of German parliament called "international terrorism, spread of weapons of mass destruction, presence of unstable states, poverty, epidemic and environmental pollution" as main threats of new century. At the same moment she pointed at UNO as "correct addressee of universal security politics, which acts in cases of human rights` violation, oppression and poverty". "Only mutual efforts of all countries can object to threats to peace and stability on Earth", - announced the head of federal government. In her opinion Afghanistan is a good example of positive influence of international support. Merkel thanked all countries for their activity. "All countries are responsible for world order, which is based on co-operation, respect of human rights and social justice", - emphasized she.
