The work on the third in the world history of cinematograph screening Leo Tolstoy`s novel "War and Peace" has started in Russia. According to the representative of a Russian-American film production company, which is realizing this project, it will be an 8 episode TV serial. The company underlines that the film making process will involve all the latest technical achievements: computer graphics, new sound solutions, visual technology HD (high definition). The script writer of the new TV version of the novel is an American playwright Ron Hutchinson. The name of the film director is kept in secret. The start of the shooting is scheduled to the summer of 2006, and it is to be finished at the end of 2007. The serial shooting will take place in different corners of Russia, and on "Mosfilm" floor. The film budget is about $60-80 million.
