The Ministry of Education and science of the Russian Federation plans to reduce the reception of school seniors to state Institutes of Higher Education by 10,2 percent in 2006. As they reported in the Ministry, it is planned to take 528 thousand 644 people, of which 371 thousand 317 people will be taken as internals for the studying of specialists with the highest vocational education. According to the words of the director of the department of economics and finances of the Ministry of Education Andrei Petrov the reduction of the planned figures of reception depend on objective reasons and was produced "taking into account the demographic factors" - the considerable decrease of the school-leavers` number. Besides this decision was taken because of the reduction of nonspecialized trades such as ‘The humanities", "Social sciences", "Education and pedagogics", "Culture and art", "Economics and management". Petrov underlined that planned figures of reception to the natural-science groups of specialities are left on the level of 2005. As they say in the Ministry the reception to higher education establishments may reduce to 25-30% by 2010.
