Fail in trade system RTS occurred yesterday being caused by computer virus attack. "On February 2, 2006 operation of all RTS markets - classical, stock and term market FORTS - was suspended as a result of computer virus attack at 4.15 p.m. to 5.20 p.m. Moscow time", says RTS press-release. Virus got into a computer connected to testing trade system via the Internet. The infected machine started generating parasitic traffic of great volume. It brought to overload of reference routers of RTS net, and due to it useful traffic (data coming in and out of the net) wasn`t processed, said in RTS press-release referring to the words of RTS Vice-president Dmitry Shatski. After problem localization, the infected computer was switched off from the net, specialists checked up all the systems, properly started the system and resumed the auction. It was especially underlined, that "virus attack did`t make irreversible consequences on RTS operation" and that no trade system data was lost. "RTS specialists have taken appropriate measures to avoid viruses attacks in future", noted Shatsky.
