In Karabudahkent district of Dagestan quarantine is announced in connection with mass loss of hens, the press service of the regional Russian Emergency Ministry has informed on Monday. "As a result of appearance of "Newcastle disease" on the poultry farm "Eldema" in Karabudahkent district of Dagestan, loss of over 300 thousands hens registered since January 25, 2006", said the Ministry official. Specially established commission of the Government Veterinary committee has announced quarantine on the territory of the district. In order to avoid further virus spread, the farm specialists and detached specialists are accomplishing the work on extermination of live and dead poultry in specially assigned places, and disinfection if the farm is being conducted, informed the press-service. After all taken measures completion, the farm will be closed for two month. Investigating group of the Central Administration Board of the Russian Emergency Ministry in Dagestan is working at the scene together with the group of specialists from Russian Federal Service for Monitoring Consumer Rights and Human Welfare.
