Today in Yekaterinburg deputy head of Federal Service for Environment Protection (Rosprirodnadzor) Oleg Mitvol criticized control and supervision agencies in nature management field in Ural Federal District, informs press-service of Rosprirodnadzor Regional Administration. The critics has been caused by "systematic non-taking measures on the facts of gross violation of Environment protection legislation". The damage, caused to environment by forest reserves taking and illegal deforestation on the territory of Sverdlovsk region, according to provisional calculation, exceeded 300 million rubles in 2005, informed the Regional Administration. Mitvol intends to check up legality of permissions for felling of 2,5 thousand trees in one of Yekaterinburg parks and cottages construction in Karasiyeozersk settlement, on the banks of the lakes Shartash and Tavatuy, Sysertsky lake and Central Ural reservoir. Besides, the Federal Service official has concerned about unsatisfactory condition of several water bodies and hydraulic structures on the threshold of forthcoming flood, in particular the city water supply point of Kurgan and Shershnevskaya levee. Mitvol took over the control of the most acute problems of nature management on the territory of Ural Federal District, in particular, the chemical plant "Mayak" activity in Chelyabinsk region, informed press-service.
