12 hackers which robbed French depositors on 1 million Euros are arrested in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. As the police of France reported, they all at the age from 20 to 30 years, mainly Russians, but among them there are several citizens of the Ukraine. This group stole more than 1 million Euros (680 thousand pounds) from personal bank accounts in France. In order to infect computers, they used the "latent virus" or, as it is called, "Trojan horse". French authorities assert that with the aid of this virus the thieves can take under their control and clean the account in bank in one second. Thus, in a moment one of the victims of hackers lost 40 thousand Euros. The plan of actions, as policemen explained, is the following. Virus is inserted in the electronic letters and some Web sites and remains latent, until it won`t occur to a client to be connected with bank on the Internet, for example, to pay accounts or to check the balance of funds on the credit card. Then the virus is activated and makes the record of passwords and codes of bank and sends to hackers. The police began investigation in November 2004, when the client of bank noticed, that a large sum of money is not sufficient on his account. Many cases of stealing in the different parts of France were registered after this. In 2005 at the Congress on the questions of cybercrime in London, dedicated to the problems of the protection of information, the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia came out. They had to officially confess, that the best computer burglars in the world live in Russia. The head of administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs the lieutenant-general of the militia Boris Miroshnikov stated at the Congress on the criminality in the sphere of information technologies that modern hackers actively collaborate with each other. He called to create international laws for intensification of fight with the Internet- criminality. If in 2000 it was initiated only 170 criminal cases according to the article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("The creation and the use of harmful programs for computers"), that till the end of the last year their quantity got to the top of thousand, and the number of programs dangerous for the users had long ago been estimated by hundreds of thousands.
