The day of commemoration of Fyodor Dostoyevsky will be held in St.Petersburg on Thursday. February 9 is the date of the great Russian writer` death, it has been 125 years since he died. For the first time funeral service in the memory of Fyodor Dostoyevsky is to be executed in Troitsky Cathedral of Alexadro-Nevskaya laura. Earlier requiem on the day of the writer`s death was held at the place of his grave. Later, in the Necropolis of Art masters of Alexadro-Nevskaya laura flowers will be laid on the F. M. Dostoyevsky grave. Later on this day Leonid Mozgovoy`s mono-play "Funny man", based on Dostoyevsky`s story "The dream of a funny man", is to be performed. 125 years since thewriter`s death is the first jubilee date, connected with his name this year. 500th anniversary of the Dostoyevskies kin will be commemorated in autumn 2006. International Dostoyevsky`s society will dedicate to it a number of festive events.
