On Friday evening XX Olympic Games open in Torino. Solemn opening ceremony will start at 20:00 by local time (22:00 by Moscow time) in reconstructed city stadium "Olympico". It is known that Italian president Carlo Adzelio Champi will honour the ceremony with his presence. 35 thousand people will witness colorful performance at "Olympico" stadium in person and 2 milliards spectators all over the world will watch TV broadcasting. "We can not open all surprises of the ceremony. They are kept in secret. But I assure you that audience will see unprecedented thrilling show with use of hi-tech technologies", - informed the representative of Olympiad organization committee Roberta Guaskino. She promised that "on February 10 the world will open the Italy of the future - energetic and passionate". The Olympic fire arrived to Apennines from Greece by special plane on December 7. The next day Italian president lighted the torch, which was passed around famous athletes, actors, musicians and fans of sport. Antiglobalists attempted to frustrate the Olympic Torch Relay. In Trento town group of young people in masks attacked Italian champion in long-distance race Eleanor Berlando and took the Olympic torch away. The relay continued after police arrested violators and returned the torch to sportswoman. More than 2500 sportsmen from 88 countries, 10 thousand journalists and 1.5 million spectators arrived to Torino for Olympic Games. Therefore, authorities of the country has introduced special security measures. Competitions in Torino will end on February 26 with bright and sad closing ceremony, when Italians will bid farewell to Olympic fire.
