About 2,5 million primroses are sold illegally in the Russian capital to Moscow every year, the press-service of Moscow Department of natural management and environmental protection has reported on Wednesday. The first stage of operation "Primrose 2006" is said to take place in the Russian capital from February 20 to March 12. For operational detection and suppression illegal sale of rare and vanishing species of plants in the period of the operation the daily duty of state inspectors on environment protection will be established, including weekends and holidays. Most radio stations will participate in the action, to fix in people`s mind the idea, that buyers of primroses become the accomplice of nature demolition, as these flowers (snowdrops, cyclamens, hellebores, crocuses) are on the edge of complete extinction, noted the department official.
