Over 300 HIV-infected patients of Altai krai will start antiretroviral therapy in 2006 within the frames of national project. By data of regional health administration, this number of people needs urgent treatment. At present moment the list of patients is specified. Before course of treatment with antiretroviral medication HIV-positive patients are examined. The necessity of this specific treatment is determined by state of patient`s immune system. By data of Altai regional center for struggle with AIDS, there are 2223 HIV-positive people on regular medical check-up in the region.
