In Russia came into force a law providing criminal liability for concealment of dual citizenship. Citizen of the Russian Federation, which together with this, and Lord of other powers, is obliged to notify the Federal migration service. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed into law, according to which the concealment of dual citizenship is considered a criminal offence. The signing took place in early June 2014 and the 4th of August the law irrevocably entered into force. Now a person having along with Russian citizenship, the citizenship of some other state, shall notify in writing the FMS for 2 months. For default of this requirement is introduced for criminal penalty of up to 200 thousand roubles or in the amount of income of a given convict for a period up to one year, or an essential work for up to 400 hours. Criminal liability will be imposed only for nonperformance of the duty to inform about the acquisition of overseas citizenship, according to RIA Novosti. It is noteworthy that regulations that would define the notification feature on dual citizenship, have not yet been confirmed. It is known that taking into account notifications of the FMS in electronic form repeating kind of centralized information resource, and another method for making appropriate entries in the register of notifications.
