Italian police visited Olympic village in Bardonekkia on late Friday evening in search for Russian biathlete Olga Pyleva, who was exposed of illicit substances use.
This was informed by staff of Russian delegation in Torino.
"Police asked members of Russian delegation some technical details: when did Pyleva leave the village, is she still in Italy, how can she be contacted", - said the head of legal administration of Russian Olympic Commission Alexandra Brilliantova.
"The visit was paid as a part of criminal investigation of illicit substances` use by Russian sportswoman. The substances are prohibited on territory of Italy. Absence of Pyleva is not a negative moment. A sportsman acted according to decision of International Olympic Commission: returned accreditation and left territory of Olympic village".
Italian Criminal Code has articles providing responsibility for doping use.
