Vladimir Krikunov to resign from post of Russian hockey head coach
The head coach of Russian combined hockey team intends to resign from the post after World championship-2006.

The head coach of Russian combined hockey team intends to resign from the post after World championship-2006.
"I work with the team for last year. After world championship I will quit", - said Krikunov on Friday evening after Russian defeat in Olympic semifinal against Finns with score of 0:4.
As the main cause of the decision Krikunov named a complexity of holding of more than one office - head coach of national team and Moscow "Dinamo" club.
Analyzing unsuccessful semi-final match against Finns, Krikunov said that Russian players didn`t recover from previous games. "It seems like we played our final with Canada".
By words of Krikunov, Russian team "could win gold if Canadian team was the rival in semi-final and not in quarterfinal".
Among other negative factors Krikunov noted disqualification of central forward Evgeniy Malkin and trauma of forward Aleksandr Koroluk.
Russia will meet with Czech team on Saturday. The "price" of the match is Olympic bronze. Finland and Sweden will struggle for Olympic gold in Sunday final game.
