The last day of Shrovetide is a Sunday of Forgiveness. The Orthodox believers ask household and acquaintances for forgiveness in order to start fast with clear soul. The patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Aleksey II has served Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in the morning and will celebrate vespers of Forgiveness liturgy at 17:00. Addressing to believers before Great fast Aleksey II said: "Every evil in our soul obscures it, deprives of mercy and joy given to people at the moment of reconciliation".
