Majority of the Russians consider that Russia should take neutral position in conflict situations with far-abroad countries. This fact is supported by results of poll conducted by investigative "Levada-center". In case of military collision between Iran and USA only 3% of questioned suggest to support USA and 6% - Iran. Majority (80%) prefers Russia to be mediator and stayed aside or avoided taking sides following own interests. Russians support neutral position in estimate of Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Majority of questioned sympathies to neither side (33%) or sympathies to both sides equally (32%). At the same moment Russians consider that allies should be searched among countries of Western Europe - Germany, France, England and others. Russians prefer cooperation with these countries more than CIS countries: 53% against 48%. The greatest threat to world security represents USA (57%) and Iran (42%). In opinion of Russian citizens war against terrorism conducted by USA brings no results. 63% of questioned suppose that the world becomes even more dangerous because of USA actions and only 11% consider that USA efforts contribute to safe world community. Majority of Russians consider Abkhazia and South Osetia the part of Russia (34% and 36%), therefore 58% dispute withdrawal of Russian troops from their territory. 77% consider that Russia should interfere in domestic affairs of the countries and protect interests of citizens in named above regions.
