Almost 90 thousand women serve in Russian Armed Forces as the contract officers, ensigns, warrant officer and rank soldiers, the ministry of Defense official has reported on Monday. About 4,5 thousand women are officers, about 400 of them have the military rank of colonel and lieutenant colonel, about a thousand are majors, others are junior officers. The average age of women the officers is 35 years old. The ministry of Defense official noted, that practically all women the officers are university graduated. Most of them are medicine workers (over 70 %), Communication workers (about 8%), finance specialists (about 5 %), military interpreters and translators (almost 2%). There are no women having the rank of the general and the admiral in the Russian Armed Forces, noted the official.
