Third of Russians doubt that Public chamber to be able influence authority
Many Russians know about the first steps of the recently established Public chamber, but they doubt, that it will be able to influence authority. According to the data of the February poll conducted by the research holding ROMIR Monitoring, every second Russian citizen is informed about the fact that the new agency has begun its activity, and for 49% of respondents this event remained unnoticed.

As for the effectiveness of the work of Public chamber, 39% of the interviewed (from those informed about its establishing) assume that this structure was originally established as "decorative organ" and actually it will not be able to influence authority agencies in Russia.
One fourth of the interviewed Russians (23%) is disposed optimistically and is sure that Public chamber will actually control the activity of the organs of legislative and executive power in Russia. Most of all pensioners aresure about it (33%) and those who have only elementary education (31%), the studies ROMIR Monitoring shows.
