After visit of Russian inter-departmental commission to Pridnestrovie Russia acquired confidence that the region is under humanitarian threat in the view of new custom regime introduced by Moldavia and Ukraine. "Concerns of Russian side turned to be true. In the view of shutdown of enterprises, faulty operation of life supporting objects, irregular service of freight and passenger transport the region may be plunged into humanitarian catastrophe", - said official representative of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mikhail Kamynin. "Joint declaration of Russian and Ukrainian presidents dated by 15.12.2005 set the goal to create climate of trust and reduce resistance between conflict sides. Introduction of new custom regime for Pridnestrovian external economic activity contradicts this goal", - emphasized Kamynin. Despite the threat of humanitarian catastrophe official representative of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is concerned of Ukrainian military build-up in frontier regions. "The situation develops as a part of well-coordinated campaign against Pridnestrovie, which is accused of self-isolation and regulation prevention. It seems like "technical measures for improvement of custom regime" were planned as a political action for economic suppression of the region", - noted representative of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "Russian side examines appeals of Pridnestrovian authorities about introduction of appropriate measures for situation normalization in the region. The top-priority goal is prevention of further tension escalation in the region of unsettled conflict", - said Kamynin.
