11 BMP infantry combat vehicles have burnt down in the fire at the territory of the military unit in North Osetia, the Republic Emergency Ministry reported.

According to the official another ten vehicles, three motor vehicles "Urals", three field kitchens and several onboard tractors were saved from the fire. The fire in one of the units, located in the settlement Sputnik of North Osetia, occurred in the evening on Thursday.
According to the preliminary data, the fire was caused by short circuit in one of the infantry combat vehicles. The Military Prosecutor`s Office investigates the case. Criminal case is filed.
Deputy Emergency Minister of the Republic Yuri Romanov reported, that 42 firemen of 9 fire brigades participated in extinguishing the fire. Besides them there were five other men from the rescue shift on-duty and three brigades of emergency room.
The fire was assigned the third category of complexity.
