State Dume has refused to pass the law about establishing obligatory quota for showing Russian films in the cinema theatres of the country.

State Dume has refused to pass the law about establishing obligatory quota for showing Russian films in the cinema theatres of the country.
The deputies declined this draft project, initiated by the group of deputies led by LDPR fraction member Alexei Mitrofanov, in the first reading.
Stanislav Govorukhin, who made a speech concerning this draft, in particular said, that "Russian cinema lacks morality much more that foreign cinema" , and so it is not worth talking about the necessity of any quotas for films.
