This was reported by regional Ministry of Agriculture.
Over 70 thousand out of 120 thousand birds died in buildings of "Bogoslovskaya" battery farm. The remaining birds are utilized. Production activity of battery farm is completely stopped. Its territory and near-by roads are disinfected.
"Bogoslovskaya" farm became the 5-th nidus of bird flu infection in Stavropol krai for last month. Previous 4 cases are recorded in farmsteads of Isobilnensky, Shpakovsky, Neftekumsky districts and Kislovodsk suburbs. All these sources are operatively localized.
But demand for poultry products has decreased sharply - poultry farmers bear multi-millionaire losses. Daily sales of chicken-meat decreased tenfold in majority of food markets. To revitalize commerce the prices for poultry products were sufficiently decreased. In opinion of market administration this measure scared consumers off even more - people regarded price drop as sale of low-quality products, which are dangerous for life.
