According to the specialists of the regional management of Russian Federal Service for Environment Protection there were 190 tons of mineral oil in the drowned trawler "Diamant" in the Okhotsk sea. The chief deputy of the sea department Sergei Nigorovskiy "according to the ship`s daily reports exactly that quantity of the fuel was left in the trawler`s capacities". "It is impossible to establish if the leakage of fuel at present occurs taking into account of meteorological conditions and remoteness of the place of incident" said Nigorovskiy. According to him, up to the moment of flood on board of the trawler was also a large quantity of the finished fish-production: about 23 tons of the frozen caviar of pollack and 268 tons of the frozen pollack. Incident occurred in the Sea of Okhotsk on Saturday, 11 March, in 19.25 local times (10.25 msk) in 35 miles from the settlement Krutoberegov of the Sobolevsk region of Kamchatka. Trawler "Diamant", belonging to LLC "Sea Horizon", during the trade of pollack encountered ice and got holes on the left side. The vessel of the Dutch building of 2002 sank during fifteen minutes. On board the "Diamant" were 44 crew members and 2 passengers, including citizen of Japan. People had time to go down life rafts to the water, and then were raised onboard by the located in the region of the incidents trawlers "Granite" and the "Arctic leader". All rescued are evacuate× by helicopter to Petropavlovsk. The åransport Office of Public Prosecutor of Kamchatka conducts the examination on the fact of incident.
