The Bureau of the parliamentary Assembly (PA) of the OSCE rejected the candidacy of the Russian Senator from Crimea Olga's Cowicide to participate in the work of the organization.
Crimea was joined to Russia in March 2014, Cowicide became its representative in the upper house of the Federal Parliament. Western countries did not recognize the new status of the Crimea, the European Union in April included Cowicide in its own sanctions list. In the beginning of winter was announced that Coveted included in the composition of the Russian delegation to the OSCE parliamentary Assembly.
With the requirement to recognize the candidacy of Cowicide invalid before officially requested the delegation of Ukraine in the OSCE PA. The appeal of the OSCE PA notes that the Bureau issued a conclusion on the recognition candidates Cowicide invalid on the advice of the Council on credentials.
"The parliamentarian nominated to work in PA is obliged to represent the country, which makes the view - and not the government, which was approved by the foreign public methods that the overwhelming number of OSCE countries recognize illegal", as quoted in the opinion of the credentials Committee.
