Apple will build data centers for $1.92 billion
Apple Inc. going to spend almost $ 2 billion for the construction of 2 data centers in Europe. This is the 1st project of this scale, which the company sells in the region.

Information centers will be built in Denmark and Ireland, each area of 166 sq. m. On the island data center will also host the European headquarters of Apple.

New abilities will allow you to ensure the operation of a number of Apple services, including iTunes, App Store, iMessage, Maps and Siri, with localization in Europe. The operation of data centers will begin in 2017.

Apple reported that the functioning of the new centers will be fully provided by renewable energy sources. Additionally, the region will create hundreds of workers places.

Today, the number of Apple employees in 19 European countries is about 18.3 thousand people. Only in the past year their number increased by 2 thousand.

Consequently, Apple has joined an increasing number of U.S. technology companies that host servers in Europe, including Amazon.com Inc. and Salesforce.com Inc. This focus is due to the increasing concern of the authorities of European countries with issues of data privacy, and yet the accusation espionage activity in the United States, according to the print edition of The Wall Street Journal. In Europe, companies that wish to pass beyond the region of personal information, even the names, addresses and Bank account numbers of the natives must go through a number of regulatory operations. According to the new rules, the adoption of which is discussed in the EU, companies that do not respect the claim data protection, can face fines of up to EUR 100 million, or 5% of annual revenue.

Apple over the past year consistently emphasized their own loyalty to preserving the privacy of user data. Apple chief Executive Tim cook has repeatedly said that the company is not dependent on user data, thus distancing themselves from Google Inc. and Facebook Inc., selling targeted advertising.
