The ship French Navy frigate La Fayette arrived on Thursday in the port of Odessa on a visit, said the press service of the defense Ministry of Ukraine.
"The program of the visit includes the formal meeting of the commander of the Odessa city Council, regional state administration and the naval command of the military might of Ukraine, carrying out a friendly football tournament," said the Ukrainian military Ministry, BelTA news Agency. In addition, it is expected that the exchange of experience between the personnel of the Navy frigate of the French Republic La Fayette and frigates of the Navy of Ukraine "Hetman Sahaidachny" on the organization of training on the ships of the naval forces of Ukraine and naval forces of the French Republic. The visit of the French ship will be held from 26 to 30 March. La Fayette is a series of frigates with guided missiles. Was built from the beginning to the naval forces of France. Later ships of the type were exported to the Navy Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and Singapore. Frigates were designed in Accordance with the Programme of development of the military power of France in the period from 1987 to 1991. The French fleet is composed of the following ships of this class: La Fayette (Board room F710), Surcoef (F711), Courbet (Courbet) (F712), Aconit (F713) and Guepratte (F714). 1st series Vehicle - La Fayette, was commissioned in 1996, and the last, Guepratte in November 2001.
