The head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed the Law on military conscription on the Crimean Peninsula, said the press service of the Kremlin on the first day of the week.

The document provides for the exemption from the conscription of citizens of Crimea and Sevastopol, which had already served or were exempt from conscription in the Ukraine. In addition, eligible for exemption from conscription will be given to those who recognized in the Russian Federation a degree.

The law also provides for the deferral of up to 6 months for young men who, before the adoption of Russian citizenship were recognized as refugees.

Those citizens of Russia, who moved to Russia from abroad and applied on the recognition of internally displaced persons, have the opportunity to receive a deferment for the period of consideration of a petition (under the legislation to three months), and in the case of recognition of internally displaced persons - further period of up to 3 months from the date of such recognition.

"The adoption of the Federal law will give the opportunity to defend against the emergence of social tensions associated with military service Residents in the territories again formed the subjects of the Russian Federation ", - stated in the message.

Sevastopol and the Crimea became the Russian regions according to the results of the referendum on 16 March 2014, more than 90% of participants who voted for reunification with Russia.
