The head of the Special monitoring mission of the OSCE mission to Ukraine, Ambassador Ertugrul Apakan tried to convince all parties of the Ukrainian conflict to preserve peace during the Easter period.

Western Christians celebrate Easter on Sunday, and for Eastern Christians next week will be Passion week that precedes Easter.

Apakan recalled in circulation that more than 6,000 people were killed in the conflict, and over a million have become refugees.

"Displaced persons and most other throughout Ukraine are in a situation of uncertainty and danger. Very often they lack food, shelter, medical support and satisfaction of other basic needs. For this reason, I call on all parties to celebrate the Easter holidays intensification of efforts for effective and sustainable ceasefire, which will last not only during the festive period, but also far beyond it.
