Moscow is interested in more active cooperation with the Council of Europe in the investigation of human rights violations in Ukraine, said at a press conference on Thursday, the head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation S. Lavrov In..

"We also expressed interest in the Council of Europe has continued, and has the ability to be even more actively engaged in the promotion of transparent and impartial investigation of the numerous human rights violations in Ukraine ", - he said after the talks with the foreign Minister of Belgium, who until may 19 of this year is the Chairman of the authorized body of the Council of Europe - Department of Ministers of foreign Affairs.

Lavrov recalled that the investigation has already engaged International Advisory Panel on Ukraine. At the end of March, the Group presented a report on the events on the Maidan last year, which indicated that the proceedings of these events, the Ukrainian side did not always meet the standards of the European agreement on human rights.

The group also has the mandate to investigate the events of may last year in Odessa. In this regard, Lavrov expressed hope that " the same approach will be manifested through this international Advisory group regarding the investigation of the tragedy in Odessa on may 2, 2014, as there is an agreement in regard to the connection of experts of the Council of Europe in this process ".
