German foreign Minister: EU countries are obliged not to violate the General approach with respect to Russia
European Union countries are obliged not to violate the General approach concerning Russia and the sanctions, said on Thursday in a conversation with the German Minister for European Affairs, Michael Roth.

Responding to a question about whether Serbia, which claims to EU membership, adopt a neutral attitude towards the issue of sanctions concerning the Russian Federation, the Minister said: "the EU has no neutral parties. We have a common approach, and it incorporates the readiness to agree to share a common position on Russia."

"However, this does not mean that a special historical, cultural, economic and political relations with other States, for example, with Russia, will be blocked. We also, despite the punishment, not frozen our relationship. Literally opposite - We want to talk with Russia and the Russian leadership, " said Roth. The Minister added that " it can give the impression that you can play on proximity with Russia against intimacy with the EU."
