Media: Elements of Communist symbols in Kiev dismantled until August 24
Kyiv city Council may, before August 24 to dismantle all elements of Communist symbols, and until 31 March 2016 in their place must appear Ukrainian symbols, say Ukrainian media.
The city authorities expect to announce an art competition and make the new symbolic decoration of the city, reports the newspaper " Vesti ". As stated in the project, dismantling subject to any images of the emblem of the former USSR ( "hammer and Sickle" ) and any image of Lenin.

In early April the Minister of justice of Ukraine Pavel Petrenko said that the Verkhovna Rada until 9 may adopt laws that " will put an end to the question of the existence of Communist and Nazi ideologies." The day before the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine submitted to the Verkhovna Rada the bill " On access to the archives of the repressive organs of the Communist totalitarian regime, 1917-1991 ". In addition, the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has made the initiative to consider the draft law "on perpetuation of Victory over Nazism in the Second world war 1939-1945" and " On the legal status and the memory of participants of fight for independence of Ukraine in the twentieth century ".
