The Ministry of defence: All positive in Russia In connection with the crisis in Ukraine All the positive in relations with the Alliance collapsed, NATO has taken the course of confrontation, said Deputy defense Minister Anatoly Antonov.
"The crisis in Ukraine has led to strained relations with the European countries. Everything positive that had been achieved with the Alliance collapsed. Instead of promoting cooperation and confidence-building measures NATO has taken the course of confrontation. Today we are witnessing an unprecedented and uncalled for increased activity of NATO near the Russian borders. Thus armed, forces blame Russia of all mortal sins, "- said Antonov, quoted by RIA " Novosti ".
yesterday the management of the North Atlantic Commonwealth introduced a Directive in which a number of delegations from all partner countries in the headquarters of NATO in Brussels should be reduced to 30 people. Review of the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Alexey Meshkov, NATO's decision to reduce the size of the delegations at headquarters in Brussels smacks of the beginning of the cold war. On Thursday it was announced that an overwhelming number of military of Directors of the NATO countries did not want to come to the Moscow conference on international security, these countries will be represented at the level of the military attach?s. In January, foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the assurances of the North Atlantic Commonwealth about non-expansion to the East have remained empty words, and at the same time the infrastructure of NATO has moved closer to Russia's borders. The Minister also said that NATO's transition to confrontational rhetoric and increase of its military presence close to Russian borders demonstrate the inability of the Commonwealth to cross the stereotypes of the cold war. Remember, in early January, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance has strengthened its presence in the East: the Alliance sends to the site in Eastern Europe more ships, planes and troops. In November past year, the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Jens Stoltenberg has described relations between Russia and NATO is not constructive, however, assured that the Russian Federation and NATO are not in a state of cold war. Simultaneously, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe thorbj?rn Jagland did not rule out a new cold war.
