Secretary of Council of national security and defence (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov met with Minister of defense of Lithuania Juozas Olekas and chief of the armed forces of the Republic of Vytautas the Jucas, which discussed military-technical cooperation country pairs, informs the national security Council on the first day of the week.

"The parties discussed the issue of cooperation in military-technical sphere, paying Special attention to the activities of the mutual Polish-Ukrainian-Lithuanian brigade ", - is informed in the report of the NSDC.

in September of last year, Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania signed the agreement on creation of the trilateral Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian military brigade Litpolukbrig. A joint team will be used in operations under the auspices of the UN and the EU. Among the main tasks of the new military units - participation in international efforts to maintain peace, the strengthening of military cooperation and the development of the foundations for the formation of a battle group of the European Union.

The work of the trilateral project began in November 2009, when the defence Ministers of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine signed a document which outlined the desire to make common military unit.
