WASHINGTON, 20 Feb-RIA Novosti. U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry met with the foreign Minister of Greece Nikos Kotzias tried to convince Athens to share the position of the US and the EU on Russia.

"I very much hope, Mr. Minister, that we have the ability to maintain a strong partnership the United States and Europe in terms of Ukraine, the need to encourage the Russian Federation in any way possible to fulfill the Minsk agreement and to assist the world in the field, and to work together on long-term challenges - energy, energy supply and diversification in the region," Kerry said.

The U.S. has in the past expressed dissatisfaction with the position of the Greek government, which had opposed the punishment relative to Russia and energy cooperation with Moscow.
