The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appealed to the Antimonopoly Committee with the requirement to commence proceedings against Gazprom, said Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
"The government of Ukraine appeals to the Antimonopoly Committee (by request - approx. We will also contact our European Union partners, to co-host the proceedings and to establish the fact of monopoly Russian company OJSC "Gazprom" in the European Union, but also in Ukraine ", - noted Yatsenyuk. Before Wednesday, the European Commission expressed concern that Gazprom's like sets across Europe low or high gas prices. Prior to this, the European Commission sent to Gazprom's official list of claims in the framework launched in 2012, the European antitrust investigation. Thus the management of Gazprom stated that it considers unreasonable complaints Evrokomissiii and is awaiting authorization provisions in light of the consensus of the capital of Russia and Brussels. Remember, in the beginning of autumn 2012, the European Commission opened proceedings regarding Gazprom. It was declared on the investigation into three cases of violations of rivalry in Central and Eastern Europe that affect the markets of the Baltic States and Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Bulgaria. The EC stressed that the case will be the priority, but the beginning of procedures in the investigation does not involve making any decisions in advance not in favor of Gazprom. In the early winter of 2013, the European Commission said that he suspects the Russian gas monopoly in the abuse of a dominant position in Central and Eastern Europe. At the same time in Brussels said Gazprom in a few days will make concessions to the EU to defend these charges. In 2013, Gazprom stated that it finds that the proceedings before the European Commission regarding the holding is an attempt of political pressure to reduce gas prices from Russia.
