The Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine is investigating the embezzlement of state property by employees of the NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" in cahoots with the companies of the group OSTCHEM, owned by businessman Dmytro Firtash, for the reason that the state suffered damage amounting to about 250 million dollars, said Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

"The Ministry of internal Affairs has filed criminal proceedings in connection with the embezzlement of state property by officials of the NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" in cahoots with the companies of the group are entities controlled by Firtash and (Sergei) Levochkina (former head of the presidential administration of Viktor Yanukovych), the state suffered damage in the amount of 5, 7 billion hryvnia (about 250 million dollars), " - said Yatsenyuk on Wednesday at a meeting of the Cabinet.

He added that the Ministry of internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General's office filed a petition to the court about the arrest of belonging to the organization OSTCHEM gas.

"the chief Prosecutor's office of Ukraine and the Ministry of internal Affairs has addressed to court with the petition for arrest of the five hundred million cubic meters of gas owned by the debtors of the group Firtash-Lyovochkin before the Ukrainian government for a total of about 4, 3 billion hryvnia (about 190 million dollars)," - said Yatsenyuk.
