The deputies of the Lviv regional Council require the government of Ukraine to terminate the Agreement on friendship, cooperation and partnership between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, informs the regional administration of Lviv.

appropriate Decision was adopted at the fourth plenary session of the Lviv regional Council. The demands of the deputies were addressed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, President Petro Poroshenko and the Cabinet of Ministers. Conclusion on denunciation of the Treaty of friendship and cooperation with Russia was supported by 65 deputies of the regional Council.

The Treaty of friendship, cooperation and partnership between the Russian Federation and Ukraine was signed in Kiev on 31 may 1997. This Contract was the development of a similar document, signed in 1990 by representatives of the RSFSR and the USSR that contributed to the development of good-neighbourly relations between States.
