American billionaire Richard Branson made an initiative to legalize drugs in Ukraine. About this he said, speaking before the students of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, informs Ukrainian magazine.

"I said that out of all the countries in the world Ukraine is one of the worst in this war. You fought for your freedom and fight right now. A lot of Ukrainians Smoking of cannabis, have different problems with drugs. But drug addicts is similar to other members of society, Like the rest", says Branson.

in the form of the settlement, the billionaire made an initiative to legalize the sale of marijuana, and cited the example of Portugal, where some time ago decriminalized " all drugs, including heroin." Then, the state has built a special hospital, and the content of drug addicts cost the Portuguese budget in 2/3 cheaper than keeping them in prison, and people addicted to heroin ceased to be drug addicts and become useful part of society."

in addition, Branson believes that due to the large level of bribery in Ukraine prison term drugs get poor citizens who do not have the ability to pay off.

"How to deal with it? Is necessary to regulate the sale of marijuana. As it happens in many American States: 28 to authorize the sale of medical marijuana, 5 - ever legalized, " said the entrepreneur.

According to the billionaire, the money from the budget that is spent on the flow of people into the courts and prisons, should be spent on education and medicine.
