Poroshenko: Ukrainian calendar may 9 will always remain a Day of Victory
The head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the Ukrainian calendar exists and may 9 will forever remain a Day of Victory.

This year in Ukraine the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism are held over 2 days - the authorities following the example of Europe has introduced a new annual celebration on may 8, which was called the Day of remembrance and reconciliation, and on may 9, Ukraine traditionally celebrates the Day of Victory. This year Kiev modestly celebrates the anniversary of the Victory in the ongoing military conflict in the Donbass.

"in our Ukrainian calendar may 9, exists and will always remain a Day of Victory. Red Day, like these poppies, which symbolize the memory of the lives lost. We respected, respect and will always respect the Patriotic heroism of our grandfathers and great grandfathers and in proof of this bow to the veterans who are present here, " said Poroshenko during the event of the oath of recruits separate presidential regiment in Kiev.

Poroshenko said that Ukraine in the battle for independence currently supports the whole world, one manifestation of this support has become " an international boycott of the parade on the red square in the Russian capital ".

"However, our main allies are equipped with arms forces of Ukraine, the national guard and other military structures," he added.
On may 9th, Russia celebrates a national holiday - the Day of Victory in great Patriotic war of 1941-1945.

The great Patriotic War began at dawn on 22 June 1941, when Nazi Germany attacked the Soviet Union. On her side were made by Romania, Italy, on 23 June they were joined by Slovakia, June 25 - Finland, 27 June - Hungary, August 16 - Norway.

The war lasted almost four and became the most major armed clash in the history of mankind.
