The interior Minister of Estonia spoke against the placement of immigrants in the EU quota
Nikolai Dashkevich. The Minister of internal Affairs of Estonia Hanno Pevkur opposed the Commission's proposal of a quota system for immigrants.

According to Pevkur, currently the government supports a voluntary approach. Quotas are only a small part." in fact, we have to have countries of origin of immigrants, to assist these people where they have had problems. This will give the opportunity to discover a more effective solution than just put people into countries, " said Pevkur, a speech Thursday before the national Assembly of Parliament.

The interior Minister also said that over the last ten years the number of arrivals in Estonia immigrants has increased tenfold. Currently in the reception center for immigrants for up to 35 people, is 82 people. Pevkur added that as of yesterday, Estonia was represented 81 the petition, among them 34 from Ukraine, 10 from Syria, 8 of the occupied Palestinian territories, 8 from Sudan and other countries.
