The conference in Rome to discuss the security of Eastern Europe
Natalia Shmakov. The security issues in Eastern Europe and the future political model of countries in the region discussed by the experts gathered in the first day of the week at an international conference in Rome.

the event, which involved 25 participants from 18 countries, including the Russian Federation, organized Defense College NATO.

"The goal of this conference is the discussion and the search for new rules of international policy in the current circumstances," said Fins news one of the participants of the meeting.

He said that according to the results of the two-day conference is not planned, the adoption of any documents, as it was conceived as "an academic discussion" to exchange views.

for example, experts have plans to speak out for the need of revision of approaches and tools for ensuring stability and security in Eastern Europe in the light of the Ukrainian fall and the annexation of Crimea to Russia.

in addition, the meeting participants will discuss the possibility of revising the system of cooperation in the field, as well as the future political model of Eastern Europe, which, in their vision must make a choice between " democracy under supervision, authoritarian regimes or new, third way."

Another one of the themes of the conference was the situation in the Caucasus who, according to the organizers more than other areas at risk due to the effects of the crises in Ukraine and the middle East.
