Over the past year the population of Ukraine decreased by 149, 5 thousand people, informs the Ukrainian television channel referring to the State statistics service.

It is also noted that only in March 2015, the country's population decreased by 22 thousand people and by the first of April amounted to 42 million 873 thousand 583 persons.

The number of permanent residents of Ukraine is believed to be 42 million 704 thousand people.
