The EC approved the expansion of cooperation with Armenia and Belarus
The European Commission approved proposals to expand cooperation with Armenia and Belarus, said on Tuesday, a senior European Commissioner.

"We have to be ready for different situations (in relations with different partners - ed.), two of our partners (the "Eastern partnership"), Armenia and Belarus have decided to become part of the Eurasian economic Union, and so We have to learn and decide how to present to deepen our relations, " he told reporters.

The program "Eastern partnership" includes political Association and economic integration of the EU with Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The last 3 countries last year signed the Association agreement with the EU partnership.

"The European Commission today approved the latest proposals for a framework agreement (with Armenia), which will not be as long to achieve as the Treaty on political integration, but it will help to strengthen our relations with Armenia and will take into account the fact that the country has decided to be a part of the EEU," he added.

LAS - international integration economic Union, created on the base of the Customs Union and the common economic space and effective as of 1 January of the current year. Currently the EAEU member States are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, and from may 29 to join them in Kyrgyzstan.
