Klimkin: the abolition of visas between Ukraine and the EU does not lead to mass emigration
Visa-free regime between Ukraine and EU countries will not lead to mass emigration from the country, said the head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin.

"I can assure you that Visa free travel does not lead to a wave of migration from Ukraine to the EU countries. We had this 1st experience in small cross-border movement in certain places. However, open borders will give Ukrainians the feeling that they are part of Europe. A biometric passport will provide greater security, movement of people, it will be possible to trace at any time ", - said Klimkin in the conversation at the beginning of the Riga summit of the Eastern partnership of the EU.

The summit in Riga scheduled for Thursday and Friday. The Commission first stated that Ukraine and Georgia Visa-free regime with EU at Riga summit will not be offered. The subsequent report about the readiness of these pairs of countries for the abolition of visas with the European Union, the Commission makes a promise to introduce before the end of the year. Ukraine wants to achieve in Riga the abolition of visas with 2016.
