Justice Ministry: Russia did not violate international law in the status of Crimea
Russia did not violate international law when neither the annexation of Crimea, nor in other aspects of relations with Ukraine, said the Minister of justice of Russia Alexander Konovalov.
The Minister said that he could not as long as in detail to tell the position of Russia on the complaint of Ukraine, which was communicated before the Strasbourg court, because " we have the complaint, which was communicated, carefully study ", reports RIA " Novosti ".

"But the approach many times voiced by the Russian side in the past after all the events of the period. Russia considers its position in conformity with international law as the process of accession of Crimea and city of Sevastopol a part of Russia, and does not consider itself in any way violated international law in the different aspects of the relations with Ukraine, " - said Konovalov. He said that this approach was first voiced in the statements of the Foreign Ministry, and in the perception of Russian political leaders. In November 2014, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that Ukraine in international courts requires Russia redress " of trillions of dollars in losses ". Previously, the head of the Ministry of justice of Ukraine Pavel Petrenko said that Ukraine serves against Russia a lawsuit in the international court of justice in respect of payment of "terrorism" in connection with the events in the Donbas. In June 2014, the Ukrainian side has submitted to the European court of human rights (ECHR) two cases against Russia in connection with the annexation of Crimea. Remember, in Crimea on March 16, 2014 held a referendum on the status of autonomy, more than 96% of participants who were in favor of joining region in Russia. March 21, 2014 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on ratification of the agreement on joining of the Crimea and Sevastopol a part of Russia, as well as the decree about formation of the Crimean Federal district.
