Former Georgian president calls to boycott Olympics in Sochi Georgia?s ex-president Eduard Shevardnadze addressed the world community with an appeal to boycott the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014, if Russia does not withdraw its peacekeepers from Abkhazia.

He is quoted as saying by Ekho Moskvy Radio that in case the Olympics are held there, "hundreds of thousands people" will be posed under threat. Responding to a supposition that he initiated the boycott because of Russia?s position on South Ossetia and Abkhazia, he said he was not calling for anything.
