Such a decision at the meeting of Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday upheld 262 parliamentarians with the necessary minimum of 226 votes.

the Prosecutor General's office submitted to the Parliament the idea of bringing to responsibility under the criminal code Melnychuk. He is suspected of creating an illegal organization, he could face a prison sentence for life.

Melnychuk, a former commander of the volunteer battalion " Aidar ", formed to participate in special operations in the Donbass, not so long ago was expelled from the faction of the Radical party, for example, organizing the building of the Ministry of defense of Ukraine. It also is suspected in the involvement of fighters of a battalion.

Parliamentary and judicial immunity is enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine. Legally the people's choice is not possible prosecuted under the criminal code, it may be only after the decision of Parliament on the deprivation of His privacy.
