Ukraine expects the contract price for gas from Russia in the 3rd quarter of 2015 295-296 in dollars per thousand cubic meters against not more than $ 250 for the European gas produced by the reverse, however hopes to come to a consensus on granting of Russia discounts, through which Russian gas will be cheaper than in Europe, said the head of Ministry of Ukraine Volodymyr demchyshyn.

"We reverse buy gas at 250 and below, of dollars, according to the formula of the gas price from Russia for the third quarter should be somewhere 295-296 dollars. Extra 40 dollars to overpay just impractical. We're just not going to buy it, " demchyshyn said at a press conference on the first day of the week.

"I think We get a discount on gas from Russia - ed.). The progress of the negotiations, which is, does not provide grounds to say that We don't get a discount, " said the Minister.

"And I suppose that the cost will be lower than in Europe. If the citizens of Russia want it (gas - ed.) to sell, they required us to provide a market price, " - said Demchyshyn.

in the 1st quarter of 2015 Ukraine received gas from Russia at a profit of $ 100 per thousand cubic meters, which was provided at the expense of export duties under the so-called winter package, agreed at the end of October 2014 after long negotiations with the participation of the European Commission. The validity of the "winter package" expired March 31, but the Government of the Russian Federation provided the same discount and for the second quarter, thus indicating the intention to accept the conclusion about a discount on a quarterly basis.

currently Russia, Ukraine and the European Commission are trying to agree on a draft tripartite Protocol on gas supplies from Russia to Ukraine, which is planned to cover the entire autumn-winter 2015-2016 season. The document is planned to be signed at the trilateral Ministerial meeting on gas, which was announced by energy Minister Alexander Novak, will, most likely, after June 20.
